Open on gorgeous swamplands of the Atchafalaya Basin in the summer. All the beautiful teens are at the beach the weekend before Gator Fest. That night an animal smuggling deal goes wrong and a large sea creature escapes into a swampy backwoods river. At the McDaniel’s “Gator Shed” restaurant Jackson, the local drunk, and gets mangled to bits. The town sheriff blames the carnage on the McDaniel’s “escaped” pack of gators and tries hauling them off to jail. Rachel McDaniel, head of the family, claims to have seen the fin of a shark! Rachel and her family, along with the help of a mysterious stranger, Charlie, take on the Swampshark and the law to clear their names, save Rachel’s kid sister Krystal and prevent the unwitting folks at the upcoming Gator Fest from being torn to shreds by a beast the likes of which no one has ever seen!

House of Bones was shot in Crowley, LA by local production company, Bullet Films, and premieres this Saturday, January 16 at 8:00pm on the SyFy Channel. House of Bones was the 5^th Bullet Films project shot in 2008 throughout the Acadiana region. In addition to the physical production, all of the post production and visual effects were done by Sweetpost Productions made up entirely of local editors and visual effects artists.

The screenplay is written by Anthony C. Ferrante & Jay Frasco, and was directed by Jeffery Lando. The film stars Charisma Carpenter, Corin Nemic, and Ricky Robinson. Also starring in the film are several Lafayette natives, including Marcus Brown and Collin Galyean. The film focuses on a group of ghost-hunters from a nationally syndicated TV show who arrive for their latest assignment – the mysterious “Wicker House” in New Orleans. The “Wicker House” has been the site of some of the most grisly murders in history. While the house has remained uninhabited since the 1950’s, locals know to stay away. When one of the ghost hunters’ team members is sucked into the walls by a supernatural force, the team has to work together to find their missing colleague. Of course, they get more than they bargained for, as they begin to unravel the secret of the house – it’s alive and its foundation made of bone. As other team members start falling victim to the house’s visual trickery and ghost-like manifestations, they soon realize what the house ultimately wants is a new owner – someone who’s just as twisted and ruthless as the house itself and can continually lure fresh meat to the slaughter. Will they make it out alive or will this be the last and greatest episode of their ghostly TV series?

Active Entertainment and Bullet Films has plans to develop and produce films for the next several years throughout the Acadiana region with the help and skills of local vendors, talent, and crew. Their upcoming slate includes a variety of disaster films which already have Worldwide distribution in place that are guaranteed to showcase the diverse and beautiful locations of the Acadiana area.

Active Entertainment in proud to report that after a hugely successful premiere on the SyFy Channel, House of Bones will be airing for a second time on Saturday, February 5 at 6:00pm CST.  House of Bones debuted as the number one rated show in prime time among adults, with 1.9 million viewers ages 18-54. House of Bones stars Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Corin Nemic (Stargate SG-1). It also stars locals Marcus Brown and Colin Galyean and was produced by Ken Badish and Daniel Lewis.

The outstanding ratings generated by the homegrown production has led the SyFy Channel to place orders for four more original titles to be produced by Active Entertainment and its Lafayette subsidiaries (Activity Film Services, Bullet Films, and SweetPost Productions).

Starring: Charisma Carpenter Marcus Brown Collin Galyean Ricky Wayne A cheesy reality television show about haunted houses is being filmed at an old plantation home.  Although the producers initially deny claims from their psychic special guest Heather (Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Charisma Carpenter) that this house is actually haunted, a series of mysterious events suggests otherwise.

Missing persons, inexplicable sightings of ghosts, and the deaths of the crew not only prove that this house is haunted, but seems to be alive.  When pompous show host Quentin (Corin Nemec of Stargate SG-1) arrives to the house, he is warned of the happenings and attempts to save his colleagues.

Trapped inside by the house itself, the remaining producers and crew must learn of the house’s gruesome past in order to defeat the evil forces and escape the house alive.

An adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s works, “Dunwich Horror” tells the story of Wilbur Whateley (Jeffery Combs of Re-Animator, The Frighteners) and his sinister quest to procure a copy of the Necronomicon, an ancient, diabolical manuscript that will help him open a doorway to a dimension inhabited by unspeakable creatures known as the ‘Old Ones.’  Driven by his sorcerous uncle and a creature of the darkest evil in their farmhouse, Wilbur meets opposition from Dr. Henry Armitage (Golden Globe winner Dean Stockwell of Quantum Leap, Battlestar Gallactica) and his team of historians sworn to protect the book.   The book’s guardians race against time through mysterious worlds in search for the elusive page containing the incantations to open the portal, but Whateley’s success forces Armitage and his team to battle the malevolent creature Yog-Sothoth and close the portal or allow mankind to suffer its ultimate doom.
