Active Entertainment Brings Film Industry to Louisiana
Los Angeles, CA | August 28th, 2008
Newly established Bullet Films, a Louisiana-based company, is principally led by executive producer Ken Badish and also boasts producer/writer/directors Leigh Scott and Justin Jones. The company, a subsidiary of Active Entertainment, currently has a slate of IO films and is also providing production services through its sister companies Activity Film Services and Sweetpost Productions, which employ full staffs specializing in production and post-production, including state of the art CGI.
Originally drawn to Louisiana by state tax incentives, Bullet Films now employs regional talent and services, along with local talent and crew to further develop the entertainment industry in Louisiana.
“Production in Louisiana is going very well for our companies,” says executive producer Badish. “The people and the community in general have completely embraced and supported us. We’re extremely grateful and excited to be here.”
Bullet Films has begun shooting its third feature film in less than four months, entitled Wolvesbayne which is helmed by director/actor Griff Furst, showcasing stars Christy Carlson Romano [Kim Possible, Even Stevens], Jeremy London [Party of Five, 7th Heaven, Gods and Generals], Rhett Giles [Alias, Nip-Tuck, Lost], Mark Dacascos [Iron Chef, CSI], and Yancy Butler [Witchblade, NYPD Blue].
With two features and numerous award-winning stars (Dean Stockwell, Jeffrey Combs, Gigi Edgely) under its belt and a third in production, Bullet Films is quickly making a mark.
Badish attributes most of that to his staff.
“We love what we do an have an amazing team of focused associates, and intangible aspect which consistently comes through in our films,” claims Badish.
Active Entertainment’s first four films in conjunction with Bullet Films will be distributed in the US video market by First Look, and internationally by Nuimage. The firm expects that all of its current lineup will be premiered on the Sci-Fi network, as have Active’s past twelve features. Active and Bullet will also produce the Sci-Fi Channel original “House of Bones” this fall.
